A World of Discovery | Interactive Design in Every Stitch
This showcase piece features a multi-sensory environment crafted from ultra-plush jumbo chenille yarn. Using a mix of finger crochet for the structural mat and precise hook crochet for the detailed accessories, this design offers a safe and stimulating landscape for early development. The playmat features removable, “pop-out” shapes, such as the heart and triangle motifs, allowing for simple shape-matching games. By mixing standard jumbo chenille with high-pile, “furry” yarns, the mat provides a diverse tactile experience for little hands. The flexible nature of the hand-crocheted jumbo yarn allows the entire sensory landscape to be easily folded or rolled for transport without losing its shape.
